Scanty Music
Richard Scanty is London based DJ and record producer Richard Marshall. A producer who over the years has been behind many well known club records, under a variety of guises, he eventually signed to Fatboy Slim’s Southern Fried label in 1999.
His single “Because Of You" became his debut into the UK National Charts at No.3 in January 2000 under the name of Scanty Sandwich. Since then he has shortened the name to Richard Scanty, and spent a number of years Djing and producing.
Project overview
Interactive Web Solutions were approached by Richard Scanty to design and develop a Web site that reflected his music tastes and would give fans the opportunity to listen to music clips and read reviews online.
We developed the concept of a 3D interactive house, with each room housing a different section of the site – reviews, history, downloads etc – to facilitate navigation.
Then utilising Flash MX, PHP and XML we developed the full site to offer:
- Content managed news/ reviews and tour updates
- Full portfolio of music with the ability to attach clips
- The capability to view online videos
Each of the rooms was given their own personality and animated graphics to make the whole experience of viewing the Web site more engaging and stimulating.
