CCLRC
The Council for the Central Laboratory of Research Councils (CCLRC) is one of Europe's largest multidisciplinary research organisations supporting scientists and engineers world-wide.
It operates world-class, large-scale research facilities, provides strategic advice to the government on their development and manages international research projects in support of a broad cross-section of the UK research community.
CCLRC’s Science and Society programme aims to inform and enthuse young people and the public about current and future science and engineering. Although CCLRC’s main laboratory sites at Daresbury in Cheshire and Rutherford Appleton Laboratory in Oxfordshire run local and regional visits and events for schools it is difficult to engage with a national and international schools audience.
Project overview
CCLRC approached Interactive Web Solutions with a brief to develop an interactive game called Outbreak based on the spreading of diseases in a small village.
The solution included:
- Development of design
- Build of interactive flash application
- Strategy based game for 11-14 year olds
